Share a seed
How does it work?
Share a Seed is a mutual aid seed sharing and food access program that leverages the power of community to fill resource gaps and get more folks growing. Launched by Reana in early 2021, Share a Seed was created as a way to connect folks with the land and with their food at a time when resources were at an all time low because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Generous growers and seed/garden organizations share their spares (e.g., seeds, garden equipment, soil) with the project, which are then redistributed throughout the the community. At it’s core, Share a Seed is a redistribution hub – what is shared freely with us is shared freely back to our surrounding communities. Share a Seed distributes resources directly to community members, gardens, and small farms, providing both the tools and educational resources to get more folks growing.
